Your Weekly Bablake Update
Weekly Update from your local Bablake NPT
Dear Members
Here’s your weekly update from myself and the rest of the team.
What’s Been Happening
Vehicle Crime A vehicle interference has been reported on MCKENZIE CLOSE where suspects have tried to gain entry to a Jaguar F Pace. A Mini Copper has had its number plates stolen on HALIFAX CLOSE and a Range Rover has been stolen from HAWKESMILL LANE. Officers have been conducting enquiries in relation to these offences. We always like to be proactive than reactive with any crime and have been carrying out strategic patrols along with using other crime fighting tools such as ANPR.
In Radford not long after a vehicle was stolen, traffic officers spotted it and a pursuit ensued. The occupants decided to dump the vehicle and make a run for it. After containing the area and searching, one person was arrested.
Neighbourhood officers also noted a suspicious vehicle parked up which got their spider senses going. After speaking to individuals with the vehicle and doing some checks, the vehicle was confirmed to be stolen. Two males were arrested. They were further arrested for other offences in relation to what was found inside and one male was also wanted for burglary. Great result.

Arrested A male shoplifter has been arrested over offences which happened across Coventry in September and October, including at a convenience store in Bablake where staff were assaulted.
No employee should fear abuse or violence whilst at work and we always treat such incidents seriously and act with diligence when investigating.
The Neighbourhood Crime Team charged the male with three robberies and four thefts from shops. The male has now appeared at Court and been sentenced to seven years and four months in prison.
Another male has been arrested on Monday for copper theft which happened in KERESLEY and two burglaries elsewhere.
Awareness It has come to our attention that individuals have been knocking on doors on MOSELEY AVENUE. Please use caution when strangers knock on doors asking for money, even if they claim to be in distress. Do not hand over cash or bank details to anyone at the door, even if they say they are stranded or need fuel. Scammers often use emotional stories to pressure you into giving money. These can include fake breakdowns, lost wallets or needing help to get home.
Tamworth Road Streetwatch Residents from TAMWORTH ROAD have set up a Streetwatch group for the area. On Tuesday they had their first patrol out with us. Volunteers are not to replace us from patrolling, but to provide a complementary and friendly visible presence which deters crime and encourages other residents to report concerns. This helps us build a better understanding of local issues that matter to the community. Our member’s safety is of course paramount, and the role is to observe and inform, not to intervene. If you live in the vicinity and would be interested in joining or would like to set up a group where you live, please email streetwatch@westmidlands.police.uk
Until next week Stay safe everyone.
